CBSE Scholarships 2024-25: CSSS

This Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students aims to financially assist meritorious students with a family income below INR 4.5 L per year. This scheme covers part of their daily expenses during higher studies. Each year, 82,000 scholarships are awarded (41,000 boys and 41,000 girls), distributed among State Education Boards based on the population of students aged 18-25 years.

CSSS Eligibility criteria

  • Students must have scored above the 80th percentile in their Class XII Board exams.
  • Students who took a gap year after Class XII are not eligible.
  • Family income must be up to INR 4.5 L per year.
  • Diploma students are not eligible.
  • Diploma students are not eligible.
  • Only regular course students are eligible (correspondence/distance mode is not allowed).
  • Students receiving other scholarships or fee reimbursements are ineligible.

CBSE Scholarships 2024-25: Board’s Merit Scholarship (BMS)

The Board’s Merit Scholarship provides financial support to students from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities. Note that eligible students receive an annual scholarship of INR 12,000.

BMS Eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates must have completed their classes 10 and 12 from CBSE-affiliated schools.
  • Students must have a minimum of 85% marks.

CBSE Scholarships 2024-25: Single Girl Child Scholarship

The Ministry of Education offers a scholarship for meritorious Single-girl Students who are the only children of their parents. It aims to support girls’ education and awards INR 500 per month for up to two years, with payments made via ECS/NEFT.

Single Girl Child Scholarship Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicant must be a Single Girl Child of her family.
  • Must have scored 60% or more in CBSE Class 10th.
  • Should be studying Class 11th & 12th in a CBSE-affiliated school.
  • The tuition fee should not exceed INR 1,500 per month.
  • Tuition fee increase over two years should not exceed 10%.
  • Applicant must be an Indian National.
  • Must continue studies in Class 11th & 12th to remain eligible.
